Saiko

Whew, finished this one just in time. :)
This is a picture of the character Saiko from the AI5 series, though this character is from a different chapter to Emiko and Caiya.
Saiko has a Chinese background, living (of course) in Japan. Shes a very energetic little girl characterised by her variety of hair adornments (in this picture its bells ;) ). And thats about all I know so far, haha.

In other news we had a get-together to celebrate Saphy’s and my 18th birthdays on Saturday which turned out to be a wonderful success. Thank you to all the people that have wished us a happy birthday; you’re all awesome. (^-^)b

Me and the new car 1

Me and the silver toyota vitz clavia my parents bought me for my 18th birthday. :) Suggestions for names?
I think I’m actually wearing the exact same jacket as my brother was in a very similar photo of him and his first car some years ago. Yay hand-me-downs? XD
If you look around on my flickr account there are 3 other photos with different angles and stuff for those who are interested.
Sorry sorry for the late update. >.<;; Yeah, I'll have a proper one for Monday.
For now thats all folks, later. ;)

Guest Song: Llama "piano ff.mid" And Double Trouble And Africaaa!

Wednesday, July 1st, 2009

Well as most of you know, my family and I (excluding Tony) leave for Africa in the small hours of the morning tomorrow; coming back about a day before the holidays end. We’re going to Kenya and Tanzania (east coast) on a “14-day Grand Circle Lodge Safari”, which I’m hoping is going to be loads of fun. :) Don’t worry, I’ll be sure to show y’all some photos when we get back.
Wish us luck.

I'm Blue – Crayon

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

I'm Blue

I drew this during youthgroup on Sunday with a blue crayon. It turned out fairly okay actually so I kept it to post (although it got a little crinkled in my pocket). =) I did have another picture in the works, but I wouldn’t have it looking so nice on time I don’t think.
The Irony of the title is also interesting, since at the moment I’m quite happy. I’ve been looking forward to this week for a fair while (we get Thursday off, yaaay~). Although I tell you, I’m sooo not looking forward to doing Jap speeches on Wednesday.. (*has not finished it yet*). -_-
Aaaaand I’m sure I’ve got a bunch of other homework I didn’t complete yet.. I’ve been really lazy this past week… >_<
Oh well. Be an optimist; look for a brighter future! :D

Interesting things for this week:
There was a fire somewhere in Henderson on Sunday. Lisa (my sister) and I saw the smoke from our house in the morning, and a few minutes later there was a news article on the net about it that got updated several times throughout the day. Gosh the media sure is fast. (upon reading it right now at 9:30pm Sunday it seems that there were two fires o.o)
And this video is pretty darn cool. I particularly like the ‘drummer’. :D Its a nice song; and the ’storm’ before it is very well done too. A good 6 minute watch. :)

Peace out, catch y’all next week.

Of Fires, Pandemics and Late Nights

Monday, June 15th, 2009

Wow, that was exciting. I had TCI class today 5th period in C11. At 3:10 our fire alarm went off; and just as we were heading out of the class a guy stuck his head in and said that the boy’s toilets were on fire.
O_O
And they were. As I walked out of our classroom I could see smoke in the end of the hallway near the toilets there. And when I exited C block I could see smoke coming out of the windows of the boy’s toilets.
Because it was only 5 minutes to home time anyway we all got to just leave (using my well practiced fire drill skills I did actually trek out to the field like you should, but there was no one there, not even teachers, so I left along with the rest of school xD ).
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a real fire at school before..

Also interesting: we didn’t have an assembly today because the government suggested that people minimize large gatherings to help slow the spread of swine flu. I know lots of people that were quite happy to see that. :)

Mmmm, Indian Cheeze…

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

I’ve been meaning to draw for a while now but the last few days have been pretty full. On Monday was getting back from camp and sorting out that stuff; on Tuesday I went over to Saph’s house for most of the day and Today I went out to a movie (Race to Witch Mountain) with X’ and two other friends, followed by dinner and another (even longer) movie called Kal Ho Naa Ho at the reunion for the people that went to India with my brother in 2004 (to which I tagged along :D ).
But thats okay, life looks like it might just be brightening up for me a bit despite any unwillingness the darkness has to go away. ;)
So hopefully some quality artwork could be coming you guys’ way in the forseeable future. I actually got a pretty nice idea for a series of mute comicstrips while at Easter Camp that would be great…if I manage to pull it off. xD Knowing me it might not even make it to completion.
[EDIT] Geh, for some reason part of this post got removed. I think it has to do with using smileys that involve triangle brackets.. Re-typing as best I can now:
Anyway, the movie Kal Ho Naa Ho was pretty tiring to watch. Its like over 3 hours of hyper-emotional cheezyness..
>_<;; But at least its good cheeze. :D <3 Indian movies?.

A Teddybear for You

A Teddybear for You

This is the picture I drew for Twinkle (a classmate) since she is about to move to Hamilton. We’re all gonna miss her and I thought since she invited me to the farewell dinner party the least I could do would be get her a gift (even though I had really short notice XD). It goes with the words:
“I heard that if you make someone a teddybear as a going-away gift then they will never forget you.”
I’m not one to make a bear. xD But as an artist I figured I could make a stab at drawing one instead. ;)
Its not too bad considering I had like 2 days warning to draw it (and I was infact still drawing it 5 minutes before I had to leave to go to the dinner party where I was going to give it to her xo). I don’t often mess with perspective like this but I think it turned out okay. The pose of the hand might be a little weird but thats the pose I thought of so there you go. XD
The details on the hand and texture on the bear sorta don’t show up at all with this scan. xD Oh well, its the only scan I have (which I took right before leaving for the dinner party) and I wont be getting another one. The drawing is Twinkle’s now.

Woo! An (almost) weekly update? I wonder if I can keep it up.. Next week is the last week of school for the term and then Easter. Holidays should (in theory) be a great time for drawing right? :D See you all next week (hopefully ;) ).

Of camp and the aftermath

Friday, March 13th, 2009

Heh, so I actually got back from camp last Friday, but I’ve been too busy catching up with my good old daily life and stuff to post about it. I also wanted to finish writing up the story of camp in the form of descriptions on all the flickr photos I put up first so I’d actually have something to show for this post. xD I finished that like late last night so here I am.
In a nutshell, camp was great. But going back into school and normal life afterwards sucks. Especially when your Japanese class was witness to one of its students knifing the teacher in the back while you were away at camp. Sure, we knew about it on the day it happened, but being at camp I didn’t really have to deal with it until I got back. That, coupled with a lot of other negative things that have been building up around me in the last few months has been really getting me down a bit. And it sucks cos theres not really anything I can do about it.
Ah well. I’m not one to complain overly much. I do have some people its still genuinely nice to talk to online, and a bunch of people that its nice to talk to at school. I guess the rest can just go… elsewhere. Negativaty is not something I need help with so I’m just trying to put it out of my mind. ;)

Now, as for that link to the camp photos… Here you go:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/27412842@N08/sets/72157614791389309/
Its best if you start at the first photo and work your way through them in order (chonologically ;) ).

Ah, and as for the picture:

Bus Swordsman

This is the second of two pictures I drew on the bus on the way back from the school camp of 2009. (The first was crap so I gave it away).
This one isn’t amazing, but its not too shabby considering that I was on a moving bus at the time…and that I’d just spent a week at camp. xD

Peace out!

7th Form Camp

Saturday, February 28th, 2009

Alrighty. Tomorrow (Sunday the 29th) morning I’ll be up bright and early to go off on my school’s 7th form (year 13) camp, Taurewa. Its a week long stay in National park in the middle of the North Island, near the mountains there. We get to do exciting activities such as climbing Mt. Ngauruhoe, white water rafting, overnight camping and other cool stuff.
Wish me luck, its gonna be exhausting; and I would rather like to come back in one piece if possible. xD
Well, I suppose you don’t have to wish me luck if you want me to be hospitalised. o.o; But then you’d have to visit me in hospital so the jokes on you! Muahahaha!

In other news, my Cisco Certified Network Associate certificate arrived a few days back with a nice letter from the president and CEO of Cisco Systems. :D And Mr Thompson has offered to help me learn PHP during some lunchtimes this year which is totally awesome and should kickstart my programming career. Woot!

I’ll tell y’all all about camp the week after next (maybe even with photos ;) ) so untill then, peace out! :)

I'm A Driver

Sunday, February 22nd, 2009

Ok, I guess some people just really don’t want to comment on that Valentines picture. -_- Rather disappointing. (I’m looking at you Sapheron :o )

But I have news anyway, for those that are interested: I drove alone for the first time today. In a manual car no less. :)
Its a noticable improvement over walking or biking in both speed and effort. Although of course its a fair bit more stressful given that if you slip up then people actually get hurt and stuff..
Oh well, driving is an almost necessary skill to have in modern society and I’m happy to say that I’ve achieved it.
