Guest Song: Llama "word setting.mid"

Monday, July 13th, 2009

Llama: “Who likes word settings? Not me, but I had to write this one anyway. Words used from some hacksign song Hiro sent me ages ago.”
word setting

The lyrics he mentions are:

Shine bright morning light
Now in the air the spring is coming
Sweet blowing wind
Singing down the hills and valleys
Keep your eyes on me
Now we’re on the edge of hell
Dear my love, sweet morning light
Wait for me, you’ve gone much farther, too far

Heh heh, didn’t I tell you guys the files have weird names? :D I’ll be back in Auckland this time next week (heres hoping) and then can give a good full write up on my first time in Africa. :) Catch you all later.

Guest Song: Llama "solo L2 compoaaaa.mid"

Llama:”Start of my level 2 composition. I’m going to change the flute to a trumpet once it’s finished, but I’m keeping it this way for now becasue it’s easier to write for C instruments. Originally came up with it fiddiling around on the piano, sounds a bit like the spelunky theme, but w/e”

Guest Song: Llama "piano ff.mid" And Double Trouble And Africaaa!

Wednesday, July 1st, 2009

Well as most of you know, my family and I (excluding Tony) leave for Africa in the small hours of the morning tomorrow; coming back about a day before the holidays end. We’re going to Kenya and Tanzania (east coast) on a “14-day Grand Circle Lodge Safari”, which I’m hoping is going to be loads of fun. :) Don’t worry, I’ll be sure to show y’all some photos when we get back.
Wish us luck.

Guest Art: Saphy Frozen

Saphy Frozen
–Click for a larger version–

A picture Saphy drew;
Saphy: “Yeah, this didn’t take me as long as I thought it would, but it did take some time. Its of a character from one of my many stories and his robot warrior that he pilots. His name is Vaughn Lyisan IV and the robot is Legionnaire Azareon, an old and nearly obsolete model during the time the story takes place.

Enough about the story, I wanted to start a series of pictures for this story I’m writing and I thought it’d be best to start with mine, seeing as all the characters are based on the choices of people I know, and therefore, those people. The motif, I guess, of these series of pictures would be the pilot and their feelings about their lives. So I chose snowland for my own. The icicles that hang off Azareon weren’t so hard, but oddly enough, the snow was. I admit I rushed both Azareon’s and Vaughn’s hands, cheating in the case of Vaughn’s by covering them with mittens(contributing factor to my choice of environment?). Also, from Azareon’s hips and downwards, I also rushed.

The picture itself isn’t too fantastic actually, but Hiro’s work in photoshop on the ice and snow really made it look great, and the darkness gives it the sad and cold feeling that I wanted. Overall, this picture, I feel, is my best yet. Thats about it, thanks for reading. Yes, I rant.”

Isn’t that a nice update? :D

Anon: “The head’s too big xD”

Sorry, been a bit quiet for a while there. I have exams coming up so I wont be drawing altogether too much untill after the 28th. I’ll try to get some drawing done in my study breaks though so you never know. ;)
For those of you who got this url from me at the end of school, bear with me. I have a special treat in the works for you all. Untill then, you can stare at this lovely picture by Anon (Carmen). Thanks Anon! :D

Good luck for your exams everyone~!

Guest Art: X-MM Ivis

Monday, September 8th, 2008

Wow, finally they’re all posted. That took a little longer than expected, but I left the last on up a bit longer so more people could see it (looking at the number of comments it looked like it got less views or something). I should have some pictures of my own for you guys some time soonish. The last week was pretty busy for me and my family (both my brother’s and my birthday, my mother had some inspectors or something in her classroom which was stressful and then I went to a friend’s birthday party too). But it should be settling a bit now.

Ooooolddddd pic!!! Done in pencil this time. My character Ivis, the Harvester from a story idea I had a few months ago. Drawn in the Phils, while I was on a 4 day barko trip from Davao, Mindanao back to Manila, Luzon. An attempt at what a friend of mine once colourfully called “asian eyes”, as well as a subject in full physical action (no posing in this one). Turned out rather well, as it was only the second piece I had done in this particular new style of mine (still my style as always, but I had just recently overhauled it. Style development. Also very important). Love the sword, the gauntlet, heck, even the single sleeve. Big problem though, her top is flying the wrong direction from everything else. Amusing, but I’m too lazy to change it.

Guest Art: X-MM In Sky, Without Eye

Saturday, August 30th, 2008

Our Second to last installment of guest art pictures from X-MM. Almost all gone. :o

X-MM Blind Flight
(Click for larger image)

Another pensketch, showcasing my growing love of drawing partially mehcanical dragons, as well as my fascination with blind subjects (look at his helmet. Notice the lack of eye holes). Please excuse the fact that his right leg has not had its scales drawn in (I forgot about them). His left leg is also quite munted (I stuffed up, but you get the idea of what it’s meant to look like). Also, his mechanical right wing could’ve been more…mechanical, I guess. Oh well, not bad.

Guest Art: X-MM Lord Greikora of the Flame

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

Oops, this was supposed to go up yesterday. XD

X-MM Lord Greikora

Another pensketch (most of them were done in black, but my pen ran out, so my new ones are all vividly blue). By the title alone, it’s clear I drew inspiration from the TRH RPG’s favourite fiery phoenix lord (alliteration right there, still a fan of english). This is a good example of integrating mistakes. His fireball hand looked much worse before, but I managed to fix it PRETTY well (not to my satisfaction though. It could’ve been much better). Haha, most people who saw it said it was a girl, until I pointed out his soul patch. That’s just the way I draw, I suppose. Lol, it turned out surprisingly better than I had thought it would.

Guest Art: X-MM Fairy of the Spear

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

Here we go again with another guest art from X-MM. Just so you know, I’m releasing them in the order that they were in in the email he sent me. ;)
And you can add Tales of Pirates to the list of MMOs I’ve played, although I’m still only about level 7.
And Mount&Blade is an awesome game that everyone thats seen it that I know has liked lots. You should try it.

“Fairy of the Spear”
Also a pensketch. My chemistry work booklet turned out to be a thick wad of single-side printed A4 sheets, so I couldn’t let those blank sides go to waste. Because of all the pensketching I’ve done, I’m becoming to prefer it over pencil. Not only do the lines come out far more pronounced, but you have to begin working more instinctively, ideas you make stay on the page, and mistakes must be integrated into the picture. A challenge, but certainly very rewarding. Ah, if only I’d more room, I would’ve been able to complete the spearhead. Alas, perhaps another time.

Guest Art: X-MM Share These Wings

Tuesday, August 19th, 2008

Well, partly to celebrate X-MM’s birthday, and partly because that last picture by me was pretty crap, and partly to celebrate the fact that I now have new art from X-MM, without further wasted space by me I give you: Guest art from X-MM (expect this for about 2 weeks, depending on how I set things up). ‘Grats X.

X-MM Share These Wings
( Click for larger image, which is still a lot smaller than the original XD )

“Share These Wings”
Done originally as a pensketch, then I decided to colour. I tried to use the original as lineart, but in comparison to the colour, the sketch was starting to look rather…well…sketchy. So i scrapped the sketch and began freehand painting (well free mouse, but you get the picture). I also neglected using any real singular colouring technique and went with the simple small palette and pure, utter burn and dodge spree. Toward the end, I began abusing the sparkly swirly thingys (a technique I’d picked up a few days prior) but they seem to fit well, so it’s all good. Given away as gift art, not too long ago.
