Lynda

AI5 character Lynda (name subject to change). Superb young martial artist who prefers her blunt staff to any bladed weapon.
May or may not be partially Pandamonium inspired (newest Heroes of Newerth hero, a panda with a bamboo stick). ;D
Now uploaded with some shadowing added, and cropped slightly differently so now the staff shouldn’t be cut off. ;)

I may have to make a new category for AI5 related pictures some time…

Anyway, its now into the last week of the holidays. Whew they go fast huh? Make sure you’re all ready to face school and exams once the end comes. :D I may get a haircut this week in preparation for my sister’s 21st birthday on Saturday. What should I get her? ^.^;

Zutto Matsu 2, a.k.a. Crystal; Happy Birthday Alison!

Monday, September 28th, 2009

This guy is kinda like how the only prominent male character of AI5 would look like. Human form of course. ;) The crystal itself wouldn’t look that interesting lol…
Its also a bit of a sequal picture/similar picture to one I never released (or properly finished for that matter) called Zutto Matsu, hence the name. :)

More importantly: Happy birthday Alison! :D All the best on your special day.

Something Sweet

Whee~ Drew this one at school in the library during exam study leave. Got me some funny looks just before the physics exam because everyone else was furiously cramming, heheheh.
Finished it off while waiting for the bus on Friday. I think it looks pretty good. ;) AND its on time haha. :D

And would you believe, during the TCI exam the school network went down so no one could save. =_= Talk about epic fail. Fortunately memory sticks and the class printer still worked.

Went to Hamilton in the weekend for my cousin Luke’s engagement party and to meet my newest second cousin Felicity, who is only 13 weeks old. :) The other two second cousins are walking now too. Gosh they grow up fast. o.o

Geoffrey's Past

Geoffrey's Past

Here it is, finally. :)
This is the only character in any story of mine that is based on me, Geoffrey. He is the main character of My Story.
Note that this is again another picture where the character is drawn in two states, but this time it is slightly different. In the story Geoffrey exists as two people, one from The Realm and one from our world (me! :D ). This is shown in the picture by one half with a sword (and a longer coat and slightly different pants) and the other side with a bus card (thats a joke in the story since the Realm Geoffrey uses magic cards in battle ;) ).
Not a bad picture, although one of the eyes is too close to the edge of the face and makes his face look a little funny. XD Oh well, its here, and its on time. :)
Feel free to keep commenting on the car on the other post if you like. Still don’t have a set name yet. :D

Have a good week everyone.

Kriel's Past

Wheee~! Here we go with another My Story character. This time its the leader of the Legion, the ever-wonderful Kriel.
At one stage during the drawing of this picture I thought it was going to turn out really bad. But when I finished it and had a proper look it kinda scared me. The eyes… (more…)

Lucifer's Past

This is the picture I was drawing in the plane on the way home from Africa and finished at home. Pretty good considering my pencil was moving at over 1000km/h eh? :D (Though the hands…ugh… >_> ).
It shows the character Lucifer from My Story, at a time before the story begins. In the picture he is showing half normal and half posessed features (most noticible in the eyes ;) ) which can’t actually happen in the story but its good for showing his full character in one picture (the idea being that he is posessed by a demon-type thing, and the inverted eyes shows when the demon is in control). I also quite like how his outfit turned out; his chest armour being sort of Golden Sun inspired and then me throwing in what I thought might work xD .
I should point out that he is infact one of the ‘good’ characters in the story. His name is a semi-unfortunate coincidence in that it’s also another name for the devil or satan; a fact I didn’t know when I named him way back when, I just thought it sounded cool. As it turns out, with his possession in the story it kind of makes it fit huh? xD

Hiro's Past

Hiro's Past

This is a surprisingly good picture of the character Hiro from “My Story.” If I’ve ever mentioned a Hiro thats to do with me but isn’t me, this is the guy I mean. This is him at a time prior to the events in the story when he was a street kid free-runner.
The only really noticibly bad point is the feet I think; that and his tuft of hair doesn’t look ‘up’ enough, seeming to fall to one side. Meh.
This was drawn in Africa (but shaded this evening). Pretty good considering I hadn’t drawn in 3 weeks or so (and considering that the paper was a bit scrunched up from being in my bag for two weeks >.<; ).

More news from Africa later I think; when I’ve had a chance to sort some good photos out to show y’all. ;) Suffice it to say that it was good, and we saw everything we were hoping to see. And one of the best bits in my opinion was watching 6 lion cubs and 3 lionesses as they were chewing on the remains of a zebra. :D

P.S. Its good to be back. :)

A Fragment of Warmth

I started drawing this picture 2 days ago and finally got it finished. Yay for free physics lessons and lunchtimes inside. :)
I really like how the face/hair turned out on this one. It captures the look I was going for quite well. Definately Megatokyo inspired, I had several of Piro’s pictures tiled on screen as I started to draw this. Its almost a take on “Sad girl in snow”. I think I’m slowly learning how to draw hair that looks good: its not about having lots of thin strands as opposed to thick chunks, its about having strands that overlap and stuff. This gives it a much more 3D and less mathmatical look. Hair shouldn’t look like it was planned too much. ;)
The folds on the skirt look pretty good too I think. I had intended to have stripes going down the skirt but by the time I got to shading it I couldn’t be bothered. XD
I should have angled the hands better (particularly the one on the left xD) but I was happy enough at the time to have actually drawn a semi-decent looking hand, even if it is out of place >.<; .
This picture actually looks pretty weird if you take the fire out. I drew the fire in just at the very end after I’d finished the rest of the picture, and everyone I showed it to before that asked what she was doing in such a weird position with her hands. “Ehhh shes just holding them out for warmth. Theres gonna be a fire over here.” xD

Bleh, the shading looks much better on the paper version. I should really get a better scanner some time. Ah well, this one was free so I wont complain too much. xD

Oh, and I almost forgot to mention: she doesn’t have a name yet. Feel free to add suggestions; else maybe she just wont get a name. I can’t really be bothered thinking about one too much.

Have a good time everyone. :) I, of course, wont be doing anything particularly special since I don’t actually have a girlfriend to do anything special with. But I choose to have fun as best I can on my own, and not dwell in my own pity just ‘cos its February 14th. ;)

I am very pleased with the quality of this picture. The hatching and shading went well, and it has a subtle 3D feel to it. Of course its not perfect, but for me this is pretty good. And yes, that outfit is Aeris inspired. >.>
<3 the hair-tie.
Haven’t drawn Caiya in a while.. It was fun. Especially since I got to draw her hair from behind, where you can actually see properly the tied back fringe thingy happening. It might be a little bit stringy at the bottom there.. but oh well. I did try to make it interesting. XD

Sorry To See You Leave
–Click for a larger image–

So this is my big project. Actually my largest work to date in terms of time taken to make it (as far as I remember). I sincerely hope that you all enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it.

This picture is for all my 7th form friends from 2008, or those 6th formers who are graduating early.
Merry Christmas everyone! :D
